Free and Easy

Free and Easy

Good morning from a sunny Hastings.

Yesterday on my walk I came across this huge dog.  The owner was out clearing out his garden and for a change he was happy for me to take photos of his dog.  He had another dog, a Rottweiler who did not want his photo taken.  This one got up to walk to me, sniff me and then went and flopped down again.

So this has been edited with both GIMP and FX Photostudio Pro.  The GIMP was used to add a canvas texture while I used the trusty vignette filter in the FXPhotostudio Pro.   I wanted a painted look to it.

Then I read about http://ceenphotography.com/2013/12/31/cees-fun-foto-challenge-free-and-easy/ and the

Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge with Sonel’s Corner and her gorgeous photo and thought this would fit the bill perfectly.

So it is called Free and Easy just because of the way he just flopped down and then looked at me with those eyes. He couldn’t care less about the world around him.  A nice way to think actually.

Thank you for visiting.

A Word in Your Ear Photograph Challenge: GAP

Gap 1

Good evening from a warm Hastings Evening.

I have been thinking about this challenge over the past few days while out walking.  In the end I looked for gaps in fences and letterboxes. I liked the idea of seeing something through the gap which then frames it.

Gap 3.

Some fences were just wrought iron and  lets one see exactly what is behind it, unlike the first image where that was just a hole in the fence.

Gap 5.

Then there are the wooden slats which don’t allow us to see mud.

Gap 4

I liked the idea of this triangle shaped letterbox which just allows us snippets of life behind the fence.

Gap 2.

Then there is this letterbox with nothing.

Thank you for visiting.
