Good morning from a sunny Hastings.
I love this challenge by Sonel’s Corner Photo-Editing Challenge. This week it is vintage objects as well as vintage editing.
Last night I discovered Snapseed, a free app for IPhones. I had taken these photos on Monday with my IPhone 5S while I was at the memorial service for the 1931 earthquake on Monday. This steam engine was used in the aftermath of the quake to clear rubble and help where needed. So last night I spent some time playing around with this app. I love the affects, especially the grunge affect. What I liked about this affect is that the focus was on the central image, and just faded out the modern background.
I though that this quote was appropriate for this challenge. I love the vintage affect on these flowers.
There are so many great posts for this challenge so check them out.

Thanks for visiting.
I like the second edit best as it retains some of the detail of the engine 🙂

I love the old look. It kind of reminds me of Back To The Future when they go back to the Wild West

Good choice of subject Raewyn & I like your edits. I often use snapseed too, if you prefer to look at a larger screen as I do – it’s also available on the mac 🙂

Thank you. Unfortunately Snapseed is now not available for Macs. I can use the iPad for larger images. 😦

Really great subject to use for the theme. I like both the photos and the edits, although I’m leaning towards the second one. I love Snapseed and use it often. It’s a super editing program just to clean up photos, not to mention the effects. Nice work!
