Good morning from another hot but windy Hastings day.
Yesterday I had a fantastic time wearing out two camera batteries – my Fujifilm camera and cellphone. Hubby and I headed over to Napier to see the action for the vintage car display and there was also an aerial display of 5 planes as well. The atmosphere was awesome with many dressing up the part. It was so cute seeing babies dressed up and in old fashioned prams while even those reluctant teenagers got in on the action. It was a hot day, over 30 degrees in Napier, while Hastings got to 35. So dressing up was a rather warm affair, especially for men in white flannels.
I did reluctantly allow Hubby to take this photo of me next to a vintage car. I did mange to find some gloves on Friday to finish the outfit off. I felt my outfit wasn’t complete without them.
Yesterday while I was reading the newspaper online I came across this review for an app for watercolours affects for your photos. I thought this was perfect for my photos of the parade. There are several reasons I have used this app. The first is that it gives a timeless, Art Deco feel to my photos and secondly it blots out peoples faces so that I didn’t need to worry about upsetting anyone. It is a brilliant app. First you see the outline of the image, and then you see the watercolour being applied, just as if you were doing it yourself. I had always loved art at school, watercolours and indian ink drawings were my favourite medium. Now I can unleash that inner artist in me with a click or a sweep of my finger. I posted these photos on Facebook and one friend was so impressed she also purchased the app herself. It is called Waterlogue. I totally recommend it.
Anyway enjoy the rest of my photos. A word of warning. There are rather a lot of them.
Thank you for visiting.
You looked the part. It looks like it was such a fun day and I would have loved to have seen all the old cars and people in the fashions of the time. It’b be a bit like having a time machine. I’ll check that app out. It might be what I need as I design the front cover for my book.

This app is amazing. So much fun. I checked them out and they are trying to bring out a full version for Macs only at this stage. Windows a bit beyond them at the moment. Thanks. 😀

I like the photo your hubby took. It looks very period. The cars look nice with the filter.
