Phoneography Challenge: Challengers Choice – Art Deco Weekend, Napier

Painted in Waterlogue

Good morning from a cooler Hastings.

Each week it has been fun to see what others are doing for this challenge by Lens and Pens by Sally.  There are now so many different non camera devices for capturing images.  With this comes so many new apps too.  I was reading our local newspaper online and came across this app – Waterlogue.  It is so much fun.  It replicates the water colour technique rather well.  It is like being in a darkroom again.  First you see the outlines of the image and then layer upon layer of the colours appear.  I am totally addicted to this app.  Much more interesting than games.

Anyway the 3rd Monday is the Challengers Choice.  Since I am focusing on Art Deco, it comes under street photography.  I have processed some more images from last Saturday at the Vintage Car Parade in Napier.

The watercolours definitely give a timeless feel to the whole Art Deco theme.

  1. Raewyn, you’re the second person in as many days who’s mentioned this app. I’m going to have to get it (and thankfully it’s inexpensive.) 🙂 Love the shots and thanks for the shout-out. 🙂

  2. Thanks for the mention Raewyn! Think I also need to check out this app – your pics look really cool 🙂 My favorite is your fourth image – I love how the sky looks in watercolor.
