Pheneography & Non-SLR Photo Devices Photo Challenge: Photo Editing

Good morning from Hastings.

Sally from Lens and Pens by Sally has changed the title from her challenge to include all non camera devices.  Just lately I have discovered the programme Murdoch Mysteries – the joys of a broken arm – nothing much else I could do.  Why do I say this?  I love the way that they show all the ‘latest’ camera devices – including the first kodak camera. The turn of the century was exciting in the new developments from glass plates to celluloid.  It also meant changing the way cameras were used – in particular police forensics.  It was also a rich mans hobby too.  Just think of all those intrepid pioneers travelling around the world documenting life as it really was.

Fast forward a century and we see how cell phones have become the new kodak of our times.  It means that anyone can document their lives but post the images on line for everyone to see, not just in books.  It means for me anyway that I don’t get caught out without a camera.  With the new technology these cameras are just as good as the bulkier SLR cameras.

This is the 5th Monday (we are now 6 hours into Tuesday here in NZ – it is still Monday in most of the world so I will do this anyway) of March.  So this week is photo editing using apps.  I love this challenge as it means I get to show my creative side.

These photos were taken a while ago.  I was crocheting some baby booties and noticed the textures using the macro feature of my IPhone 5S.  They were editing using Snapseed which enhanced the textures.  If I remember rightly I used the drama and grunge filters for these edits.  A nice distraction from crocheting.

  1. Raewyn, I like the top right one of the yarn and the top right of the baby shoe. I’m really enjoying seeing all the different edits. Thanks for the shout-out and link, too. Much appreciated.
