Another Sunday, another Odd Ball challenge by Cee – check out about this challenge at her blog here –

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: Week 10

Sooo these car photos would go under other challenges so why are they under the Odd Ball Challenge.

Well this is an American State Trouper car and I live in New Zealand. This is all original.  The sirens still works and the gun holster is till intact – New Zealand police officers don’t routinely wear guns or have them readily available in the car.

The licence plate reads 1978 Plymouth Fury THE COP Minnesota State Trouper.

Mandarin Orange Monday

18

Good morning from a cooler Hastings.

As it is Monday it is time for this awesome challenge by LorikArt.  It is a great way to learn about photo editing and just to let the imagination go wild.

For more about this challenge here is her blog

http://lorikart.com/2014/05/04/mandarin-orange-monday-92/

So I started off with these two photos from the car show at Meanee yesterday.

The tree photo didn’t really need much editing to get where I wanted.

9

I can’t remember the filter for this particular photo but it was edited with FX Foto Pro.  I wanted some more definition to the tree to make it stand out more against the background so added the Hippie filter.

10

Which gave me my orange image.

The tower photo had a few more steps.

2

I first dodged it to make the tower pop out a bit more against the sun behind it.

7

Then the bright spots filter.

4

Finally I used the gradient map filter for the orange image.6

In Photoshop I then tweaked around with the colour hue and also tweaked the shadows and light so that it stood out a bit more.

5

For the final image I flipped the tree vertically so that the tower was just a shadow in the background.

This is a lot of fun just playing around and trying different filters and getting to know new apps and editing programs.

Meanee Show and Shine (Car Show)

8

Good evening from a cool evening here in Hastings.

This is actually our sunrise this morning.  I noticed this just as I was trying to write my blog – very distracting.

Anyway Hubby and I went to this car show at Meanee Speedway, which is halfway between Napier and Hastings. It was rather cool when we arrived and the light was very sepia toned.

12

Then by 9 AM it had started to warm up and the light improved.

1

As you can see with this reflection of myself and Hubby.

Hubby wanted photos of cars but we found this very original sewing machine instead

9

7

It sold within minutes for $20 – not bad for a very old machine and worn out cabinet – treadle operated so long before the coming of electricity.

Then we found this delightful 1954 caravan.

11

32

Along with this rather large tricycle

13

I was more interested in reflections.

14

4

And old jeeps before we found some cars.

6

5

And trucks.

10

Finally I obviously wasn’t the only ones going around with a camera.

15

I  found some great photos for Cee’s Oddball  and Which Way  challenge for the next few weeks, along with A lingering Look at Windows.

Thanks for visiting.
