Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge: Visitors in my Garden

 Duck on the run (640x363)

Good morning from a cold and grey Hastings.

Many apologies for being late this morning but I have been having some fun with photo editing on GIMP – not.  I do miss Photoshop.

Anyway as it is Wednesday it is time for showing off some visitors I have had in my garden the last week or so.

The first photo is the mother duck that wandered into our garden a couple of weeks ago.  I didn’t manage to get any photos of her babies but this will have to do.

DOn the Watch for birds (640x477)

And here is my friendly furry visitor in his usual spot on the deck spying on the birds.

Last night I went out with my son for his leavers dinner.  The food was cooked by a class of 15 – 16 year old boys and it was fantastic.  They were so passionate about their cooking and I reckon could give Gordon Ramsey and co a run for their money.  Very tasty.

Martin and I (640x476)

Please don’t look too closely at the editing of this photo of us.  It took me a good 3 hours just to get that.  The layers are not as easy to work out as Photoshop.

But this is my very, very tall son.  Yes that is the true height difference.

Thanks for visiting.  I will catch up with your comments and blogs later.  Things to see, things to do.

Cheers

    1. Thanks. The duck was busy quacking for her babies.
My son is about 6’2″. He has cousins in Austria who are even taller. I feel really short next to him. He is useful for reaching up high for me. 😍

  1. Such gorgeous visitors indeed Raewyn and you’ve captured them so well! 😀

I am glad you had so much fun and what a beautiful son you have. I love the photo and kudos to you for editing it in Gimp. It’s more than what I can do, believe me. If I had to do editing in Gimp, I will break the house down. LOL!

If I may ask, what happened that you don’t have photoshop anymore? I don’t know how you can work in Gimp. That software is the worst ever and I am not even crazy about photoshop, but it sure beats Gimp. 😆

    1. My ex-hubby is still holding my computer to ransom. He has promised through his lawyer to give it, but so far is being an #%*^+. He refuses to pay me any settlement and is now after my child support from Austria for my two children. I have a trespass order against him as he will flip out when he finds that he has to give me money. He has already hurt me before we split. So I am trying to arrange a third person to pick it up. But he is not playing ball.
Thus it is GIMP for any work with layers. There are certain filters I like. But not much else. It is free. My main consideration. 😔

      1. What a jerk! I do hope he gets what’s coming to him Raewyn! Also, sorry to hear that. I thought by now all of this would be over. How can someone that calls himself be an adult, be so childish and selfish? He can be so glad I’m not there. He would need the police to protect him from me!

I hope everything get sorted out very soon hon. Thinking of you. ♥

      2. It has been 6 months and he is using the computer as a way to control me. It is only a computer. I can always replace it with my settlement money should I need to. Stupid thing is, he can’t use it as I have the mouse and he has no clue about the commands for macs. 👎

  2. How long can this situation be dragged on? What a farce! He is, definitely, an @$$! I hope your kids are doing well and you refrain from sharing any info with them or letting your feelings come out in front of them. It is probably very difficult, though.

    1. My children have come on so well. My son’s school work improved and my daughter’s stress related skin problems have cleared up. We didn’t realise just how much stress we were living under until we left. He is not their father, thank goodness. He just doesn’t want to give me anything at all. It was the same with his first wife. 😦

      1. They were what made me want leave. He was horrible to them. He is not their father but was far worse than their own. He even tried to turn my children against me. Didn’t work.
