Good morning from a cool but still Hastings day.
As you know from my posts over the weekend I have spent my time quilting. Then I realised how slow I was. A couple of weeks ago Cee gave us the challenge of finding feet/shoes for her Fun Foto Challenge. I used photos of a bird, butterfly and bee.
That was when I had my light bulb moment. I have lots of feet. Feet for my sewing machine. This one is called a walking foot. It is specifically for quilting and allows the machine to move several layers of fabric and batting to stop the puckers.
So I am using it today.

I have an old machine (rarely or never used by me). It has a box of all kinds of gadgets. I remember my mother called them feet. All very strange looking. When I am desperate for things to post, I now know where to go. 🙂

I just looked up vintage sewing and I think my machine fits there. lol I really am going to drag it out someday and take pictures. Sure wish I would sell it. 🙂

I had two very expensive machines. Just sold my original machine at a very knock down price. But every dollar helps. Try E Bay. You never know.:)

I have an old machine but it needs some work so I bought your art school daughter, who wanted to use it, a new one at Costco. It practically does the sewing/quilting itself, I think. 🙂 She loves it, so that’s what counts…and it weighs SO much less than the old one, which is like lugging a set of weights.

My sewing machine was and still is one of the best machines on the market – very expensive but it has been worth it. I have really got my money’s worth out of it. 😀

Very clever! I am such a slow quilter that I have fabric sitting under my bed in an airless plastic bag for years. One quilt took me over 30 years before I finally finished it so that its usable! 🙂

I have two other quilts to do. one is a quilting magazine that I get once a week – thing is I am about 6 months behind with it. So now am trying to do a block a day. The other is still in it’s bag and will probably stay there for a while. 😀

A block a day is quite an accomplishment. At that rate – 365 per year – whew! Then you have to get all those sewn together, blocked and quilted, and therein is the rub! Good luck my new quilting friend. My finished top really did sit for about 35 years, or more before I finally let it go to a quilter. I wanted to do it by hand since I had pieced it by hand, and that’s how long it took me to give it up. I’m glad I finally did because I enjoy it very much! 🙂
