Good morning from a very bright and sunny Hastings morning. Yesterday it just rained and rained all day and well into the night. So it was a huge surprise to wake up this morning to find a gorgeous bright sunny morning and that the temperatures are going to reach the late twenties in celsius. Our weather is crazy.
I spent the day catching up on another quilt. The light was bad so I really couldn’t do anything. I have a new toy for my quilting which cuts the fabric into the right shapes for me. So I zoomed through this quilt. This one has taken over 80 weeks so far. How do I know this exactly? It is a weekly magazine where I learn about the history of quilting as well as piecing techniques. I got really behind on it as I didn’t have the energy to use a rotary cutter. Then i discovered this toy on special and now I can add dies to it. It will revolutionise my quilting.
So onto the challenge by Jennifer. Due to my machine embroidery I do know my colours but with this challenge I am learning new ones.
This week is Taupe – a sort of brown, tan and grey mix.
Three of my photos are taken around the Hastings CBD. I have previously shown this water fountain and this time I have shown a close up of the motifs on it. The grill is around the big round water feature and even the grill has an Art Deco feel around it. Finally a rose.
