Good morning from a cool sunny Hastings morning.
I am a bit late today as I had to drive my son to EIT, his college. He gave me a heart attack, or at least gave me a huge fright when he opened his door on me. I had thought he had already gone, but no, he had slept through his alarm. I got him there with 1 minute to spare. It was a complete waste of time as I grabbed my camera and went to Cornwall Park on the way home. I was in 7th heaven. Bliss.
So onto Jennifer’s challenge which this week is saffron.

Actually this photo would have been good for last week’s challenge of seafoam.
This is an older photo I found this morning. I tweaked around with it, sharpenening and darkening the middle tones and I think it is a stronger photo for it.

I have been seeing a lot of Saffron entries. I had never thought of it as a color. It sounds better than just plain yellow. 🙂

It is actually the most expensive spice to use in cooking.

Saffron is so expensive as it takes an awful lot of flowers just to get a smidgen of the spice. Much more than extracting the essence from rose petals.

Such pretty flowers! It would have worked well for seafoam, like you said, but I love the saffron with the seafoam. Lucky to get him to school with 1 minute to spare! Thank you so much for sharing.
