Cee’s Oddball Challenge: New Zealand’s Rural Police Force

Rural Police-619

Good morning from a freezing cold Hastings morning. I was up with the birds, a rooster – literally.  I managed to drag myself out of bed and went down for the sunrise at Cornwall Park.  I wasn’t disappointed.  It was beautiful, just about an hour after I got there – next time I must look up the sunrise times so I don’t freeze my butt off waiting for a few minutes of the glorious colours.  I will post them later as I have noticed that the Sunday Stills theme this week is for sunrises/sunsets.

Anyway onto this great challenge by Cee over at Cee’s Photography.  This is where we get to showcase those great oddball photos where they just don’t fit anywhere but are interesting.

This photo was taken at the Agricultural Field Day at the showgrounds.  I had entered my two paintings for this event so I decided to go and have a lot.  And take some photos of course.  Until my camera died.

So this photo makes me wonder just what kind of police chase this tractor would be good for – a slow one I think.

Actually it is rather appropriate today.  Yesterday I had an unwelcome visit from my ex-husband.  Unwelcome because I had a trespass order out on him, which he then violated so I moved so that he wouldn’t know where I live.  Well he does now.  How, I don’t know.  He chose a time when I was home by myself and came in an unfamiliar car and totally caught me by surprise.  We do have a business together which we are in the process of winding up.  There was no need for him to come and see me.  He could have phoned.  Once this is all over I will be blocking his number and now I am off to the police station to get another trespass order for this address.

So I will catch up with you all later on.

  1. Oh Raewyn; I’m so sorry to hear that your ex has reappeared. I so hope the police deal with this quickly and effectively. Have you been in touch with Refuge? Sending big hugs xx

  2. The Photographers Ephermeris is an app you can get for your phone or you can use it for free on the browser and it tells you times of sunrise and sunset but also shows you the angles as well. Check it out!

    1. Lol. That would be cool. Just hope he respects the trespass order. He didn’t last time. There was absolutely no need to visit me, other than to intimidate me. My neighbours know who he is now and are on the guard too.
