AB One Photo Focus: August

Decocraftsdigicrafts

This month we got to add our own editing touches to this image by Katie Prior of Drawing with Light

As usual I just played around with the Photoshop filters – I can’t say which one as when I am doing this it is hard to remember to write down what I am doing at the same time I am doing it. I did crop some of the sky out so that the focus was on the cool crazy paving.

Then I went to Photoscape and played around with some more filters there as well as adding a frame.

WPC: Beneath my Feet

Havelock North-086

Good morning from a cooler Hastings day.

For this week’s challenge at The Daily Post   has asked us for photos under our feet.

Each Friday, we ask you to look through your lens in a different way. In the past, we’ve challenged you to get close. Gaze up. Peek out the window. Today, look down and document the world beneath your feet.

Yesterday my Social Snappers group headed over to Havelock North to a beautiful spot where there was a small river under the main bridge entering the township.  The weather was perfect.  No wind, not  a cloud in the sky and we had a great time wandering around shooting to our hearts content.  It was a bit wet underfoot with some large puddles as in the first photo.

These daisies were large – they didn’t have to worry about being mowed down.

And we found some buttercups.

What we are now finding is now that we are nearly into the middle of August the light is starting to get stronger.  By 11 o’clock it is too strong.  Next term we will be starting earlier and finishing earlier.
