Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Sepia Roses

Sepia Rose-2

Good morning from another hot Hastings day.

This week Cee Neuner has given us free reign on our photos – but they have to be sepia toned.  So what else am I to show but more roses.

Sepia Roses 1-2

Sepia Roses-

This is my favourite editing.  Usually I will add some detail with an HDR filter with the Nik Collection and then onto the Silver FX Pro 2 and it’s antique plate II filter.  It is so soft and really suits my style.  I was inspired, years ago by these two photos in my parents bedroom.  They were portraits done in this style and then their faces were painted to add colour.  You can see it was painted – these photos would have been done back in 1960 or thereabouts, just after they got married.   They have always fascinated me with their technique.
