WPC: NZ’s Landscape Viewed From the Bus

Our Landscape-

Good morning from a cool, but humid morning here in Hastings.

This week Cheri Lucas Rowlands from The Daily Post has asked us for our landscape images.

For this week’s challenge, share a photo of a landscape: a wide establishing shot of a scene in nature or an urban setting. Landscape photography is typically displayed in a horizontal orientation; before getting started, read photographer Jeff Sinon’s tips on composition and finding the best shot.

Well I have a lot of them.  Taken last weekend when I took the bus to Wellington.  I had a few really odd looks.  But I had fun.  I think I took about 500 photos all up, both ways on my phone.  Some were very interesting to say the least, with the reflections superimposed on the landscape.  I will be showing a few on my mobile photography posts in the coming weeks.  But here are a couple taken around Dannevirke, south of Hastings.

Our Landscape 1-

Just wide open fields with the distant mountains.

Our Landscape Painting-

I know the quality of the photos aren’t that good due to the dirty windows of the bus.  Sometimes you just have to go with the image you have been given.  This last photo was taken through a very dirty window with the light all wrong. But somehow it looks like a water colour painting.  I did add an HDR filter an Topaz texture just to make it look more like a painting.  And to bring out the colour in the cloud.  It was a bright golden colour in real life.
