Good morning from a cloudy spring day here in Hastings.
Nancy has the perfect challenge for me this morning.  Sunrises.  I have literally thousands of sunrise photos.  But here are my favourites.  Driving down in the middle of winter to Otane means I get to see the most amazing sunrises.  On this day I wasn’t the only photographer around taking photos.
The views were stunning.
The best sunrises just happen on the coldest days. Â But definitely worth the early rising for this.
Thanks for visiting.
This week Nancy wants to see our eateries.  So, after much searching my hard drive I found this photo, taken in 2009 of our caddy in front of a Cadillac diner.  The gentleman in the blue shirt is my ex-hubby.
Please excuse the quality as it was taken with an older camera.
I believe the diner is no longer there. Â I got food poisoning from eating there too. Â That might have had something to do with it’s demise.

When I read what Nancy’s prompt was this week I knew exactly what photos to use.
Every week when I drive down to Otane it is hard for me to concentrate on my driving.
This day I just had to stop and take photos. Â I wasn’t the only one. Â There was another photographer who had stopped as well. Â I think he was on a mission that day to make the most of this magical sunrise.
I am only 5 minutes away from the country, yet only 5 minutes from the CBD. Â The best of both worlds.
A Photo a Week: In the Country
This week Nancy is fascinated by hats.  Well, so am I.  I have an Art Deco hat which I love.  And now I am trying to find a hat suitable for the Suffragette movement – I want a straw hat with purple, green and white blossoms (which I will be making) on it. I am in the Blossom Parade this year for the Women’s Centre.
Anyway here is my gorgeous daughter with a couple of hats from WWI which we found at the Gallipoli Exhibition at Te Papa museum.
She really suits hats.
Thanks for visiting.
One night I had to go to my doctor. Â As it is winter it was dark. Â So I was keen on getting some photos of Hastings CBD by night. Â I managed to get some photos while my son was getting rather impatient ( he is my chauffeur while he practices for his licence). Â So I then went back to the car. Â Except it was the wrong car, and I couldn’t understand why someone was sitting in the passenger seat. Â Oops. Â My son was in hysterics over it. I had to laugh too.
Anyway here is our clock tower by night. Â Very impressive too. Not quite a good quality as it was taken on my iPhone 6S

This week Nancy has given us an easy prompt (at least for me). Raindrops.  I literally have thousands of photos of raindrops.  Most of them not worthy of a second look.  But I found these photos.  When I have my Social Snappers group we still go out, even in the rain.
And not just raindrops on roses.
But also on leaves.
All these were taken just around the Heretaunga Womens Centre.
