Cee’s Oddball Challenge:

Head in the air (1 of 1)

Oddball:  noun   a person or thing that is atypical, bizarre, eccentric, or nonconforming
                 adjective  whimsically free-spirited; eccentric; atypical

While helping my father out with his stall at the school fair last week I saw a lot of oddball things.  That included this hat, if it can be called that.  Ah, perfect for Cee’s challenge at Cee’s Photography

Odd One Out

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter, Frohe Ostern, Happy Passover to everyone.  I would have done a separate post but have to work carefully on this computer as I am now hearing a slow and painful death with it – i.e it clicks and then totally freezes.  My son has told me the hard drive is dying so to make sure I back everything up.  So I am putting most of my work onto ViewBug.com.

Anyway have a nice day.  We are into Easter Monday now.

Cee’s Oddball Challenge:Week 13

Cars bouncy castle )

Good morning from a sunny Hastings day.

Sad news I’m afraid.  New Zealand was crushed last night by Australia in the Cricket World Cup final.  The dream run has come to an end.  But it was the furtherest New Zealand’s Black Caps have gone so it was a great tournament for us.  I think if we had played in New Zealand it might have been a different ending.  Plus Australia didn’t play fair with their sledging – that is when they try to upset the opposition with their comments.   That is not what the game is about.  Never mind.  Time to move on.  To be honest I was totally over it.  Even the newspaper was full of it – no crosswords at all. I did not watch it.  I had no TV or radio on – I just caught up with my blog and worked on some photos.

The reason I say this is yesterday I spent the morning with my parents at Taradale Primary School village fete.  It was totally boring as it rained heavily for about an hour and no one came.  Then when it did stop and the sun came out the people were more interested in the food and sand painting.  I was soooooo bored.  Luckily I had taken my camera with me so took a lot of photos of umbrellas – there are some great umbrellas out there.  Behind us was an old rusty car and kids paid to go in and beat it up.  The noise drove my mother crazy – she kept asking what that banging was.  Then there was someone who couldn’t sing sung the whole time and it was so loud.

They did have this great bouncy castle. A lot better than the traditional castle.  It was popular with the kids. A great photo for Cee at Cee’s Photography challenge where we find oddball photos.  You can see that the clouds were black and heavy with rain.  Not long after this the heavens opened.

Cee’s Oddball Challenge

Odd root at the beach (1 of 1)

Good morning from a dark Hastings morning.  I can see that there will be a great sunrise so will be jumping up and down waiting for the light to improve.

This morning I will be going horse riding.  I have only been on a horse a couple of times so it should be interesting.  My father laughed when I told him.  He said that when I was a child I fell off a horse and swore I would never get back on a horse again.  I can’t remember this.  Well I will see how I will get on, literally.  I am rather short, and horses are rather big and tall.

Anyway, onto this great challenge by Cee at Cee’s Photography  This is the chance to show off our photos of oddball subjects.  They are great photos, too good to throw away.

I found this root of something while at the beach taking photos of the high surf after the cyclone.  It looks like a carrot but there seems to be roots on both ends of it.  I have absolutely no idea what it is.  There was a lot of odd objects thrown up by the surf.  What made me sad was that there was a lot of man made objects among the seaweed and other natural objects.

Here is my entry this week for Cee at Cee’s Photography.  My father had made these out of coloured perspex and they hang in their kitchen.

Cee’s Oddball Photo Challenge: Giant Kowhai

Giant Kowhai-

Good morning from another sunny Hastings day.

It is Monday for me and that means this challenge by Cee’s Photography. This is a giant Kowhai flower sculpture at Napier.  I hadn’t been in the CBD there for a while and now there are a few sculptures around.  This is one of them.  I took this photo at the Art Deco Weekend as you can see that even the men get into the fashion.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge:Hanging Loose

Just Hanging Loose (1 of 1)

Good morning from a sunny Hastings.

Here is my photo this week for Cee’s Photography‘s challenge.

Please don’t shoot the messenger or in this case the photographer.  By this I mean the practice of breeding foxes just to kill them for fashion.  I have one as I was given it.  I don’t wear it.  I just want to say I don’t agree with this practice at all.  Thank goodness it is not as popular now as it was back in the Art Deco period.  So this poor fox is about 70- 80 years old. I just saw it hanging at the window and it looked so helpless.

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: 2015 Week #9

I have to use my computer in safe mode at the moment.  I have no idea why my computer keeps freezing.  It is all Adobe’s fault.  My computer just froze after I downloaded Creative Cloud.  Luckily I had done some editing before all this and I can still access them to do my blog. I also managed to save them onto an external hard drive. So thanks for some of your comments yesterday.  I have done a system restore but it hasn’t worked.  Fun and games.  I am driving my son mad with yelling for his help.  But he has only just started his course.  In 3 years he could help me.  So last night I spent some time googling this problem.  It seems it is quite common but Adobe is not being helpful.  They blame the computer systems.  But it happens to both Macs and Windows.  Therefore it is not my problem, it is Adobe’s problem.   So it is just likes and no comments at the moment.
