WPC: Anticipation of Christmas

Thanks for visiting.

The Daily Post: Anticipation

Thanks to everyone liking my posts. I have been flat out this week getting ready for our last market of the year.  I am dressing up as Mrs Claus and giving out sweets (candies) to all our young visitors.

PS: I made this nativity scene some years ago – with machine embroidery.

Michelle’s Weekly Pets: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Good morning from another muggy Hastings morning.

I thought I would be ahead of the crowd and do my shopping this morning at 7 AM.  Well so did everyone else and the carpark was already fill by the time I arrived a few minutes after 7.  I just did my normal, every week shopping which I do every Wednesday so that my trolley was nearly empty compared to all the other trolleys.  My one extra for Christmas was to get some cherries.  All around me everyone was frantically filling up their trollies like the shops would be closed for a week.  Bedlam.

Anyway it is good to get that chore out of the way and just chill out for the rest of the day.

So a Christmas theme today for Michelle’s challenge:

When I took my son to do his last minute shopping I wandered around town taking photos as I do.  This and the silver so called trees in the fountain are the only decorations we have.  So Scrooge is alive and well in our local council.

Just something a bit different today.

All the very best to all my blogging friends around the world.  Enjoy your festive season.

Cee’s Oddball Challenge: Christmas Teddy

Good morning from a cooler sunny Hastings morning.

A Christmas theme for my Oddball challenge from Cee.

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: Week 42

There is a Christmas shop in the CBD that is more like a grotto with Santa Claus sitting in his big chair waiting for the children to come and see him.

I just loved this Teddy sitting outside in the window.  So cute.

The Daily Post: Gone but not forgotten

Christmas tree (481x640)

Good morning from a grey Hastings morning.

A Christmas theme today for the prompt from the Daily Post:

Hastings has brought out their decorations for Christmas.

We have Father Christmas flying past the Westermans building.

Hastings Christmas decoration (481x640)

And 5 of these silver trees adorn the fountain in the CBD are the total amount of decorations to celebrate Christmas.  A bit on the scrooge side I reckon.

Christmas lights (640x481)

But my neighbour is determined that we wont forget his house this year.

Christmas lights (2) (640x481)

We all have Christmases long gone that we remember with fondness, while there are others we would rather forget, but somehow are never forgotten.

Sunday Stills, the next Challenge: Holiday Lights and Decorations

Merry Christmas

Good morning from a windy Hastings morning.

This is  a new challenge for me –Sunday Stills, the next Challenge: Holiday Lights and Decorations.  I just loved the photos this week by Cee’s Photography with her Christmas lights.  As it is summer here for Christmas we just don’t have the same ambience with the Christmas lights.  We do have families who dress up their homes for Christmas but we have to wait until very late at night to really see them.  So I thought of taking photos of window decorations while out walking.  I only found a few.  When I was still at school I used to paint our windows with a big Santa and trees etc. I prefer the camera these days.

Merry Christmas 2

Merry Christmas 1

They have all been edited with FX Photostudio Pro.

Then I added them to a card in the Greeting Card Shop app.

I edited the photo with Santa into a vintage sepia tone so that it went with the colours of this second card.

So a Merry Christmas to everyone out there.
