Ese’s Shoot & Quote Challenge: Pleasure

A babe in the house is a wellspring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love, a resting place for innocence on earth, a link between angles and men.

Martin Farquhar Tupper 1810 – 1889

Ese’s Shoot and Quote: Celebration

The Arts, quite simply, nourish the soul.  They sustain, comfort, inspire. There is nothing quite like that exquisite moment when you first discover the beauty of connecting with others in celebration of larger ideas and shared wisdom.

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Awakenings

The voice of the sea is seductive, never ceasing, whispering, clamouring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander in abysses of solitude.

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Alive

When you wake up in the morning, think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

Ese’s Voice Shoot & Quote Challenge: Empty

DSCF8415 3

I am convinced that material things can contribute a lot to making one’s life pleasant, but basically, if you do not have very good friends and relatives who matter to you, life would be really empty and sad and material things cease to be important.

David Rockefeller

Good morning from another sunny Hastings.  I hope everyone is keeping warm and dry in the Northern Hemisphere.  The weather is going crazy at the moment.

I just loved this old bike that I found in a garden just abandoned and falling to pieces and really wanted to use it and then found this quote which I thought was rather appropriate for this challenge by Ese’ s Voice

Today I have a photographic assignment.  This week is full on with the Art Deco festival.  My husband works as a teacher at an early childhood centre.  They are getting into the mood with a Great Gatsby inspired picnic.  One of the families is really involved in this festival and has an old car so the grandmother is bringing the car along, while the mother is doing a picnic with scones and cream.  I have been invited to take photos and then pop along to the local newspaper to see if they will do a story on this and using my photos.  I will of course dress up for it as well.  Unfortunately I won’t be able to post any of the photos for you to see as I need to ensure their privacy.  The families don’t mind for a newspaper, but not my blog.

Anyway here are some other great posts for this challenge.

Ese’s Shoot & Quote Challenge: Fragile

Good evening from a cool Hastings.

Time for Ese’ s Voice Shoot & Quote Challenge.  Which this week is Fragile.

Friendships are fragile things, and require as much handling as any other fragile and precious thing.

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Imagination

Love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination.

Good morning from a so so Hastings day.  We had a huge downpour last night which we desperately needed but it has stopped but the clouds still remain.

Anyway here is my contribution to Ese’ s Voice‘s weekly challenge.  I chose this photo of roses which represent love.

Check out Ese’s blog here:

And I just love the image by Michelle in this post so check it out.

Ese’s Shoot & Quote Challenge: Buzz

Good afternoon from a hot hastings afternoon.

This weeks challenge by Ese’ s Voice is buzz.  after I looked up some quotes I found this one.

A bee is never as busy as it seems; it’s just that they can’t buzz slower.

Kin Hubbard (1868 – 1930)

When I had found the photos I wanted and then went online to do this blog I discovered that Ese had used the same quote.  But she had a more interesting interpretation of her bees.  A pot decorated in bees.  Here is the post:

Never mind.  Here are some more photos of bees.
