Good evening from a cool Saturday night in Hastings.
After a cold start the weather turned out rather warm and so to get a bit of photo therapy I headed out to find some autumn colours which I will show tomorrow.
I also found some bird life while I was out. There were lots of fantails flying around enjoying the warm sunshine. The only thing was that there were dogs running around so that just as I was focusing on the fantails a dog would start barking and the bird would fly off. This was the best shot.
Then there were the usual sparrows.
I found these stilts walking not far from the motorway. I really struggled with the zoom with these, trying to get the right depth of field. These were the best of my photos and I had to heavily crop them as well.
Finally a feather to finish of this post.
Good evening from a cooler Hastings.
This weeks challenge by Sonel’s Corner Photo-Editing Challenge is feathers. I knew this was coming up but didn’t really have any feather photos as such. Only loads of photos of ducks and birds. But I wanted something different. The other day I opened up the egg carton to get some eggs out for dinner and guess what I found. That’s right. A beautiful feather. So dinner was delayed just so that I could take some photos. I don’t normally do still life but it was fun to see how many different ways I could take photos of a single hens feather.
So here they are:
They have all been edited with GIMP for a cartoon affect just to bring out the details and textures a bit more before I headed to FX Photostudio Pro for the final editing and then Photoshop to add the copyright. I just tried out different affects for the different looks.
I just loved seeing the other posts for this challenge. There is definitely a Hitchcock feel to some of them which is fun. So here are some of the other posts for this challenge:
