WPC: An Inspiring Day

An Inspiring DAy-022

Good morning from a very cold and frosty morning. The sun is up now so the internet connection has thawed out.

What is your inspiration? What moves you? What is it that never fails to motivate you, to get you going, or make you happy? It could be the bench in a quiet section of the park where you go to center yourself. Maybe it’s a favorite piece of music or book passage that boosts your enthusiasm. Or, maybe it’s the face of the love of your life, a treasured memento, or the unconditional love you see in the eyes of your pet.

This morning  has asked us for photos of what inspires us.  There are so many things that inspire me so here is my day.

An Inspiring DAy-019

When I get up in the morning the first thing I do is look at the sky.  I have been known to run out in my PJ’s with my camera to capture the morning skies.  Some have been totally awesome.

I am always looking around me for new photo opportunities.  Cats are another favourite.  We have so many that come to visit me.

Nature is always inspiring and ever changing.

Bugs and butterflies are always inspiring.

Especially as they are in decline.

Our feathered friends and their birdsong is beautiful and inspiring to the soul.

At the end of the day sunsets can be so colourful and an awesome way to end the day.

And then the moon comes up.

There are so many things around me that inspires me to pick up my camera and take photos.

Travel Theme: Spring

Snow White (1 of 1)

Good morning from a cool Hastings morning.

Ailsa from Where’s my backpack? has asked for spring photos, celebrating the Spring Equinox from the Northern Hemisphere.  Here in New Zealand we celebrated the Autumn Equinox.  So I went out to celebrate this yesterday by going to Frimley Park to find what blooms I could find.  I totally love my new camera.  I had a few duds, but I love the sharpness of the lens and it really seems to suit my style of photography.

The light was amazing.

Ok, I did edit this a little. But the roses are not touched.

Dahlia (1 of 1)

This has only had a hint of clarity adjustment.

The colours were so strong.

WPC: Orange you glad it’s photo challenge time

Orange Monarch Butterfly- (800x604)

Good morning from a grey Hastings day.  We have had a glorious red sunrise – I just grabbed the camera and ran outside to get some photos.  In my night shirt.  And I got seen too.  I just say hi, smile and wave.  What else can I do?

Anyway onto the weekly The Daily Post Challenge. I love the title of it this week.  Orange is such a happy, cheerful colour. So here are my photos for this week.

A New Beginning

1

Good morning from a very bright and sunny Hastings.

If you have been wondering why I haven’t been online lately there is a very good reason.

Last week Hubby and I had a huge argument which resulted in him kicking me out of our home.  So this last week I have been staying at my parents home, with my children still with him.  I have spent the week searching for a new house to rent as well as packing and sorting out amenities etc. I have found a new home and am moving in  tomorrow.  We do have a good welfare system here in New Zealand so I can get assistance to find a new place to rent and in living costs.

I have chosen this butterfly image to represent a new beginning for my children and myself.  They are so fragile,  yet can overcome such adversity and survive against the odds.

I will be completely off line until next Wednesday which should be interesting for my internet addicted children. I miss you all so much but will be back stronger than ever.

Thanks for visiting my blog, even when I am not active.

IPhoneography Challenge: Nature

IMG_1983IMG_1981

Good morning from a dark Hastings.  The sun hasn’t come up yet .  So that means the days are now getting shorter, and the nights longer.  It is also cooler in the mornings too.  Summer is on it’s way out.

Another week, another iPhoneography challenge hosted by Lens and Pens by Sally

These photos were taken with the my 4S outside our local bank.  I had just pulled up in the car park when I notice this monarch butterfly and immediately got out the phone and started taking photos.  It didn’t like what I was doing so flew off.  I started to put the phone away when it came back again.  So out came the phone again.   Much to the disgust of my son who was with me.  He shrunk down into his seat and wanted to disappear.  He was so embarrassed.  Luckily for him no-one was around to see this.

The second time around I was able to up close a bit more using the zoom on it to get these photos.

Here are a couple of great blogs to check out.
