Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Five plus

5 Signs-103

This week is the last week for Cee’s numbers series for her Fun Foto Challenge. Five or more objects in the photo.  So this is our CBD in Hastings. There are five signs above this building.

And as everyone knows, I can’t resist my florals.  There are more than five small flowers on each stem.

And there are more than 5 petals on this protea ( at least I think it is a protea).  Correct me if I am wrong.

Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Chloe & Friends

Chloe & Friends-107

Good evening from a cool Hastings day.

Sorry I wasn’t able to catch up with everyone but it was my Social Snappers day.  That means rushing off in the mornings.  Today we went for a walk around Hastings CBD.  A big favourite of townspeople and visitors alike are Chloe and her friends.

Artist: Gary Hebley.

Installed in 1989 as an aesthetic addition to the inner city upgrade, the sheep have remained a family favourite ever since.

The flock of sheep proudly recognises Hastings’ strong links to its rural hinterland where pastoral farming has been the backbone of the Hastings District Economy.
The names of the sheep were chosen by children through a public competition with Chloe the black sheep and her four friends – Molly, Polly, Sally & Susie.

Perfect for Cee’s black & white challenge asking us for our sculptures, statues and carvings. Actually I really didn’t need to do any post processing into monochrome – black and white sheep……

One Word Photo Challenge: Tsunami

Port Ahirii-245

Yesterday I went to Port Ahuriri.  Last week we were battered by a storm.  This looks calm but you can only just see some patterns of the pebbles left from some strong surf.

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Post Processing Challenge – Panoramas

Good evening from a cool Hastings day.

I must apologise for being really late with my post today.  Tuesdays are my days for my painting class.  So, I managed to wake up at a decent hour but when I went onto my computer the Internet was down yet again.  Sooooo, it was a matter of eating breakfast at a leisurely pace before heading out.  Hopefully I won’t have too many interruptions.

This week, being the 5th Monday/Tuesday in June it is time to show our post processing for Sally’s challenge at Lens and Pens by Sally.  My image is actually 2 images merged using the panorama feature in Lightroom.  I tried to do a panorama shot with the camera but managed to cut off the rainbow above the tree.  It should be with apps but I never quite got there.

I think it is a good image for this week, after hearing what has been happening in the US.  So this post is for you Horty at It Is What It Is.

And here is another of my paintings.

Not the best, but I am getting there.  Very slowly.

As it is later in the day and I am tired I will catch up with you all tomorrow morning.

Thanks for visiting.
