Good evening from a wet evening here in Hastings. It has been an eventful day. I nearly had a car accident but luckily didn’t. Then at 4 PM we had a rather large earthquake of 6.2 and now we are getting the tail end of Tropical Cyclone June with heavy rain and winds forecast, I don’t mind the rain and we need it but I hate the wind. As for the earthquake I managed to get the phone out to film it but it was rather tame compared to the other videos uploaded. We have a few more cracks in the wall but as this house went through the big one in 1931 I am not too worried. One thing we did knock down the chimney three years ago which was just as well as that was rather dodgy.
Anyway enough of the doom and gloom. The challenge by Sunday Stills is F. So my children and I were having fun thinking about what photos I could use for this challenge without using flowers. I came up with ferns or fog. I found the fog photos first so that is what I am showing today. These were taken on 21st July last year. I try to head out early with the fog to see what I could see and shoot. The photo above was one of the first I took that day. So here are the others.
I should say that they are all taken in the Frimley area and Frimley Park.
Here are a couple of other blogs to check out:

Good morning from a cool sunny Hastings today.
Sunday Stills, the next Challenge: Happiness is.
I have been thinking about this challenge by Sunday Stills for the past couple of days. What is happiness? I browsed through some of the blogs I follow and they are all so different, but it was great to see what made people happy. Then I remembered these photos I took on Christmas day. So I thought about how pets can bring such happiness into peoples’ lives.
This is my mother holding her pet poodle Abby. Abby is 12 nearly 13 years old and going blind. My mother has been rather unwell lately but Abby has been a constant companion with her. This pose will always be how I will remember both. I didn’t want a photo that was stiff and posed so I got Mum to pick up Abby and just took the photos. I am not sure she would like the editing so I will print out a “normal” photo for her.
The second photo is their cat Missy. Yet another calico cat. Missy is a gorgeous long haired cat and just dotes on my father.
So today I get to kill two birds with one stone. I can put this towards Hope* the happy hugger‘s Michelle’s weekly Pet Challenge. Week 17.
Thanks for visiting.

And finally Michelle’s entry:
Good morning from a muggy Hastings. I have just been reading about the big freeze in the States. Wow. Too cold for even a polar bear at the Chicago Zoo, or even an escaped convict who handed himself in just to keep warm. So take care and keep warm. I am thinking of you.
This weeks challenge for
So bridges. We have bridges here in Hastings but they are boring compared to some of the blogs I have seen. But then I remembered that I had taken some photos at Pakowhai Park very early one morning in the frost. This first photo is one of the small bridges that cross a small stream. I loved the misty look from the steam rising from the water in the cold. The photos I got that morning were just amazing.
Here are other photos of bridges from that day.

Sunday Stills: The Next Challenge: Bridges
Thank you for visiting.
A good evening from a warm, muggy Hastings.
I was just playing around with my photos when I saw the email from Sunday Stills come in with his challenge – Sunday Stills, the next challenge: White! .
So of course I searched out for some of my white flowers. Since we don’t have snow where we are the next best thing I can do are these images.
White flowers are actually quite hard to get the textures etc when there is a strong sun. Just like red, it gets bleached out.
Of course I have my favourite roses.
Then there are other white flowers around. I am not sure what they are.
These have been edited with FX Photostudio Pro, but only minimally with vignettes and frames.
Thanks for visiting and take care.
Good morning from a windy Hastings morning.
This is a new challenge for me –Sunday Stills, the next Challenge: Holiday Lights and Decorations. I just loved the photos this week by Cee’s Photography with her Christmas lights. As it is summer here for Christmas we just don’t have the same ambience with the Christmas lights. We do have families who dress up their homes for Christmas but we have to wait until very late at night to really see them. So I thought of taking photos of window decorations while out walking. I only found a few. When I was still at school I used to paint our windows with a big Santa and trees etc. I prefer the camera these days.
They have all been edited with FX Photostudio Pro.
Then I added them to a card in the Greeting Card Shop app.
I edited the photo with Santa into a vintage sepia tone so that it went with the colours of this second card.
So a Merry Christmas to everyone out there.
