This week Nancy has given us the challenge of finding dead plants.

Even though their lives are over they can still be beautiful.
I found these dead plants at my parent’s house. My mother was a great gardener but with her Alzheimer’s all that has gone now and the sad part is that she doesn’t see how her garden is dying. My father now has someone to work in her garden but it will never be the same again.
That is why I have edited these photos in monochrome.
As you can see the spiders have taken over.
Thanks for visiting.
I am so sorry about your mother. Thank you for sharing these photos for the challenge.

Alzheimers is such a sad thing. I am sure the garden must have brought her much pleasure.

It did. She used to have a huge vegetable garden when I was growing up – we never brought any at all. But then again I can’t look at another bean. 😀

These are beautiful and poignant. I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s Alzheimers. Both my inlaws have forms of dementia, and it is awful to watch. My mother-in-law still gets some pleasure from her beautiful garden, I’m glad to say. 🙂

Thanks Su. My mother lived for her gardens. Now it is hard to see how she has lost interest in it. 😀

It must be so difficult to watch. My m-in-l can still appreciate hers, but it is definitely not the same.
