Good morning from a warmer but cloudier Hastings day.
This week The Daily Post has asked us for our early morning photos. A couple of years ago, as my marriage was hitting the rocks I would head out before the sun came up to grab some early bird shots. I got the best photos in the middle of winter with frosty mornings. The mist rising of the water at Cornwall Park gives some amazing affects. There is a plus and a minus to getting up early in the winter – the plus being you don’t have to get up so early for a good sunrise but the trade off is that it is so cold.
But I did manage to catch some amazing sunrises. Which is such a peaceful way to start the day
This week (and especially if you’re among those who find the early bird concept cringe-worthy), I encourage you to set your alarm for the early hours, grab your first (several) cups of coffee, and challenge yourself to capture an outstanding photograph in the early morning light. BRIE ANNE DEMKIW

You too have captured a glorious morning in sepia. I wonder if it is something to do with the position of the sun in relation the Earth?

The sun was very low. And that was the colours I saw. Some days was a deep red, while others were sepia. Thanks for commenting.

Lovely shots. Dawn photography is a pleasure I’ve yet to experience…. I’m thinking too cold but your photos are persuasive.

Thanks Marilyn. That was a magical moment. Another photo I took was used on our national TV – on the weather report. But it is stunning in the winter there for the sunrise.
