This week Nancy at nancy merrill photography has asked for photos depicting comfort. I had to think about this one a bit and then I remembered this photo I took about 20 odd years ago of my niece and nephew. This is my attempts at the grunge look. I used a very grainy paper before using a sepia tone to get the nostalgic look.

I sometimes think older photos are much more special as we really had to think before we took them, not like today where we can try as much as we like

I know. This was a lucky shot as well. I really love the emotion in this one. Had a lot of fun in the darkroom too.

I like the effect of the grain and sepia, it makes for a lovely soft photo and suggests a gentle nature of the little boy.

Unless I put up a picture of pile of mased potatoes (comfort food), I think I have to skip this one. But maybe I’ll make a comforting dinner and photograph it 🙂 Your picture is much better.
